Question: How do I cite sources for information found on the internet?

Answer: Exact APA (etc.) protocols are not yet finalized for citing internet resources. The examples below are examples of what is "currently acceptable." 

"Currently acceptable?" Yeah, I know it sounds kind'a fishy. If this is for a class your teacher will hopefully tell you exactly how they expect the information. But for those of you that are left hanging without an example - hopefully this will help.

E-mail 
  • author's name (if known) 
  • author's e-mail address, in angle brackets 
  • date of publication, in parentheses 
  • subject line from posting 
  • type of communication (personal e-mail, distribution list, office communication), in square brackets 
  • date of access, in parentheses 
Doe, J. <[email protected]> (1999, January 14). Joke of the day. [Personal e-mail]. (1999, January 18).
WWW
  • author's name (if known) 
  • date of publication or last revision (if known), in parentheses 
  • title of document 
  • title of complete work (if applicable), underlined
